Text Message (SMS) Consent
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Majeroni Orthodontics sends text messages only to patients and parents/guardians who have opted in. This messaging program is operated by Rome AI on behalf of Majeroni Orthodontics. This page describes how that consent is collected, what we send, and how to stop messages at any time.
Text messages are optional. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of becoming a patient, booking or changing an appointment, completing our forms, receiving treatment, or making a payment. You can decline on this page or on our intake form — nothing else changes, and we’ll reach you by phone call or email instead.
1. Opting in online or on our intake form — and how to decline
There are two ways to opt in, and only two: in writing— the form below, or our new-patient intake form — or verbally, over the phone (section 2). Either way, it is your choice to make. On our written forms the mobile number sits next to a consent checkbox that starts unchecked and is marked optional. Its label reads:
“I agree to receive appointment reminders and account notifications by text message (SMS) from Majeroni Orthodontics at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.”
The checkbox and the mobile-number field are optional everywhere we collect them. To decline, just leave the box unchecked — online you can also choose “No thanks — don’t text me” below, and on the intake form you simply submit it without ticking the box. Declining changes nothing about your appointments, your treatment, or anything else you can do with our practice.
2. How you opt in verbally — the script we use on the phone
If you call our office, or we call you, a team member may ask whether you’d like appointment reminders by text. Here is the script they work from. A real person’s wording varies from call to call, but every point in it is covered on every call, before anyone is signed up: that it’s optional, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that STOP stops the messages while HELP gets you help. We only sign you up if you say yes.
“Before I let you go — one quick thing. We can text you appointment reminders and account notifications from Majeroni Orthodontics at this number. It’s completely optional. It won’t change anything about your appointment or your treatment, and if you’d rather not, we’ll just call or email you instead.
“If you do say yes: message frequency varies with your appointments, and message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any text to stop them, or reply HELP if you need help. The full details are on our consent page, and I can text or email you the link.
“So — would you like us to text you appointment reminders at this number?”
Either way, we note your answer in your chart with the date. If you say no, we don’t ask again at that visit. And if you don’t give a clear answer, we treat that as a no: we never count silence as a yes. You can change your mind whenever you like — reply STOP or START to any text, tell any of our staff, or call us at +1 (925) 886-3744.
That question is the only way we take consent by phone. Our automated phone assistant never asks for it and never records it, and we don’t treat calling us, texting us first, or writing your mobile number on a form as consent on its own.
3. What we send
- Appointment reminders and confirmations.
- Links to new-patient intake and forms before a first visit.
- Recall notices when it’s time to schedule your next visit.
- Account and treatment notifications, and replies to questions you text us.
Message frequency varies with your care. We don’t send marketing texts, and we never sell your number.
4. Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any message and you will be unsubscribed immediately and receive one final confirmation text. Reply START to re-subscribe. Reply HELP (or INFO) for assistance, or call our office at +1 (925) 886-3744.
Message & data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. Privacy & Terms
How we handle your information — including message content — is described in our Privacy Policy and the messaging Terms of Service. Your mobile number and text-message consent are never shared with third parties for their own marketing.
